Personally im 16, and love fantasy especially books about fairies. I think there should be more authors that publish books about fairies for teens or adults. There are only ones for littttttle kids..and some people that are teens or adults still like reading things like that. So i think there should be more books with fairies in them. What do you think?

No fairies, but my book has a griffin who writes novels under a female pen name and a bear who drives a 1968 Chevy Suburban. Oh, and there's also a dragon who paints murals. It'll be out in February of next year.

You know, the usual stuff. :)

My book has fairies. It's not for little kids, I would say the 8-12 yo market, but I've had adults who like it too. All my adult reviewers (and the one 12 year old who reviewed it) raved about it.

Fairies, elves, dragons, the whole nine. So I think that that kind of fantasy still does have a place. If it didn't, LOTR wouldn't still be so popular.

My YA novels have fairies too :D My main race is Fae, though they are not fairies themselves, but I also have a race called Petals, that are basically fairies w/ flower petal wings.

someplace around here, anyone seen my keys?
Terry Pratchett wrote Lords and Ladies for an adult audience. It's all about Fairies. Not the sweet sparkly kind though...it's one of my favorite books.

He also has a recurring role in many of his books for the Pictsies - again, not what you'd think, which is why they're not Pixies...

My MG novels wouldn't work without the magic of fairies (no, not your normal, garden-variety fairies; tooth fairies). Although I've written them for readers on the verge of adolescence, I've added underlying adult witticisms to appeal to any older readers. ;)

Spam,
my daughter is 15 and LOVES stories about dragons, fairies, elves..anything to escape reality. She dreams of becoming a screen writer. Why don't you write a story about fairies?

Keep on reading!

Hi, I'm new here and I just wanted to say thanks. this thread has just given me a big confidence boost.

I'm writing a faery story for 9-14 year olds at the moment and it's great to hear that you want to read more fairy stories. At the moment 6 agents have requested sample chapters and I'm so excited! If anyone would like to read a bit of my story I'd be glad to e-mail some.

Thanks.
Hope you all had a great christmas,
Laura
