Just thought I'd throw this out to all of you smarties and see if anyone has a possible explanation. I'm certainly technologically impaired. Netflix customer service had no explanation, said they'd "pass this on to research", and haven't fixed the problem since we called (3 days ago).

We stream shows from Netflix, using Apple TV. We've been watching the series 24 lately. Been working fine for weeks. For some odd reason, since last week, 24 has suddenly begun giving us a message like "Netflix is currently unavailable" (can't remember exact wordage, it's been a few days, sorry) every time we try to watch it. EVERY other show we've tried clicking on comes right on. Except for 24. If any of you have ever been mired in this show in mid-season, I'm sure you can sympathize with our frustration. :) It's almost as bad as the hiatus of The Walking Dead!

At this point, we're just curious about what could possibly cause this problem.

Thanks,

c.e.

Sounds like a problem on their end.

Sometimes these problem "magically" disappear after a while (which, of course, doesn't help you now).

I've had it happen with a series for a bit, and with a specific episode.

Usually it has been a browser or computer issue. (Demonstrated by going to a different machine and having the episode run fine.) Flushing the browser cache and history and restarting usually fixes it. Not certain how that might apply to the Apple TV. I haven't played with one.

Wow, you guys are fast.

No, alleycat - this doesn't help us now. But oddly, it's becoming a bit less painful each day. We'll wait for that "magic".

You're right, Wiliebee -- it works on my husband's iPhone just fine. Unfortunately that screen is a bit small. Not sure how to clear a cache through Apple TV. Husband's tried restarting it. Will check on that.

Thanks again.

Oddly, a Google search for "Apple TV clear cache" comes up with more than one Mac forum recommendation to just "pull the plug" and force it to restart and load new art. I believe the appropriate comment here would be "Your mileage may vary." :)

You did a Google search for me and looked at forums? *bats lashes*

I'll try pulling the plug tonight when hubby is home. Thank you!
