It is an excellent idea. :)

There are problems though. Since the 2011 event, I've bought several of these free books in charity shops.

I then have to deal with an odd resentment at feeling bad about giving money to charity which I shouldn't have to for free books.

It really screws up your sense of goodwill.

In 2012 I will make my presence known in town centres on said night. :)

Anyone joined in this year?

I found The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O'Farrell on the train this morning. So I read a bit on the commute to work, then a bit more on the commute home... and finished it when I got in!

It's very good. But it's not something I would have bought. So they've introduced at least one person to something new. I shall look out for more of her stuff.

And tomorrow morning, I shall leave it on the train. I've also registered it on the site so it will be interesting to see if anyone else does!

Well, I released it into the wild this morning on my commute. Wait and see if anyone picked up.

Or if the cleaner put it in the bin!
