Somehow I've turned on symbols in my Word documents and cannot figure out how to turn them back off. It shows a period between every word and paragraph symbols at the end of lines. It's driving me crazy. I hate it like that. I'm using the word version one older than 7.

When I print preview, the symbols go away and they do not print, so it's just on screen. Can anyone tell me how to fix it? Thanks so much.

Always grateful for your generous help,
Keyboard Hound

Worked like a charm!! And so simple--ONCE I KNEW WHAT TO DO. Thanks so much! This has about drove me crazy. You guys who always help out will never know what it means to this electronically challenged human to have a place to come to for help.

Thank you so much TudorRose. If you ever need help with a crit, I'm much better at that than I am at word processing.

This is the magic of Word. If you don't know how to do something, it's almost impossible to figure out on your own. Their "help" function is a marvel of technological and writing ineptitude.

Engh... I'll have to disagree. MS help files are extensive. However, like a dictionary you can't find an item if you don't know what it's called.

I think this is why I couldn't find the help I needed by trying to search Word's help files. I tried, but came up with nothing. I no doubt called it the wrong thing.

Thank goodness for the people here who know what I'm talking about and are willing to help!
