Hullo, hullo! I apparently made a blunder with my first post...so I'll try again.
Hello, my name is Emily (chorus: Hiii, Emily!) and I'm a sometime schoolmarm (Theology, Music, Drama, Art - I've done it all), a theatre director (tons of it - esp. Shakespeare - I'm about to start Tempest in a few weeks, and just came off of As You Like It), playwright & author (see here).
I've got a lovely nephew and godson, Jamie, who's the light of my life at current. Thanks to the economy, I'm force perforce living la vie boheme, which mostly means barely making rent and working my tail off! (E.g., from Feb-April of 2011, every week was either tech/performance or the week before tech/performance which is just a mini-tech.) No one told me that being an impecunious artist would involve more work than a fully pensioned job!
Anywho, I've been writing oodles of plays, but have only recently gotten back into writing fiction. What's taken off has been the Regency Austenesque work, and I've finally buckled down enough that I'm attempting to make a "go" of it. Which means I'm still learning the ropes for self-promotion...so tips are much appreciated!
That's me - I'm looking forward to getting to know you!
