I hit something by accident and did away with my home row when on the Internet. I can open and close tabs, but when I need to go home, it's not there. I have to close the old tab, open a new tab and then I can go where I want to go. I miss going home! Can anyone help me? Sometimes I feel so stupid! Thanks!

Right click along the top of your browser and see if the navigation toolbar is turned off.

What browser are you using?

I'm using firefox. When I right click at the top, it's bringing up an options menu for Firefox.

There is nothing I can click on above the line which shows the tabs I have open.

You can also go to View > Toolbars.

The entire line is missing including the view and the refresh buttons.

Behind you!
What happens if you hit Alt+V (the other way to get View)?

Maryn, pretty low-tech but occasionally helpful

Yes, it's possible to lose it but just as easily to get it back. I use Firefox and the last time this happened, I opened Google Chrome (or Explorer) and just typed in the question. The answers are all there on the first page, on virtually every line.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I have to leave for work now. Wish I had time to work on this while you are all so willing to help. Thanks so much for what you've told me. I'll be back on soon as I get home from work.

Go to the View menu; not a button.

In the View menu will be a menu item Toolbars; it may say View Toolbars, or just Toolbars.

That menu will have a sub-menu that says something like Navigation Toolbar.

It will also have an item like Options or Customize.

One or both should help you get yours back the way you want it.

The reason I asked if you'd recently upgrade to FF4 is because they've moved things around (for example, the default for Home is now over to the right; if you want it on the left you have to move it yourself).

And yes, what Medievalist posted above is what I meant in my previous post.

This is exactly what happened. The little house is all the way over on the right edge of the screen. I totally missed seeing it. Thanks so much. And thanks to everyone else who responded to this plea.

I wasn't having the issues with FF4, but I recently went to the newest Thunderbird email. Ended up with an additional and unwanted tool bar. The suggestions here allowed me to find how to get rid of it.

So thanks.

I can't say it often enough. You guys are wonderful! I've never posted here for help that someone didn't come through for me. I'm glad this thread has helped others, too.
