Has anyone heard of this company? http://www.bravadopublishing.com/index.html

It was listed on the WD list of 2009 Self-publishing companies.

I ask because I'm interested in finding a local NW company to invite as a presenter for our writers' workshop, but only if they are not scammers/just a vanity press.

I couldn't find it listed on the existing list of publishers.

Just glancing at their website, I like that they seem straightforward about self-publishing. They look to be upfront about fees and don't hit you with a lot of scare tactics and "publishing is broken" hyperbole which is refreshing.

If the ISBN lists Bravado as the publisher, it's vanity.

IMHO, they look like a 'large fee in advance' self-pub. I, personally, don't consider any of them to be highly reputable by contrast with back end cost recovery publishers like Lulu, Createspace etc.

And in '14 became Bravado Publishing Services to offer editing/formatting with no actual publishing. (Owner publishing her how-to books as Authorpreneur Press.)
