I don't think I've seen this listed anywhere on AW.

This is part of a press release for a new Christian publisher located in the Nashville area.

The former president of Thomas Nelson/Word announces the launch of a new Christian book publisher, Worthy Publishing, which will offer both children's and adult books.

The company will offer inspirational, devotional, and spiritual and personal growth books, as well as fiction and "select children's titles."

Sorry, no unsolicited manuscripts, but I thought people might still be interested.

I can't find squat on submission guidelines, and their Fall list is reprints and books by established authors. I'm basically looking to see if they're playing the "partnership" game, since their "about" and "mission" pages don't make that clear.

Cynical Lily is cynical.

There was more information in the press releases, I just didn't type it all in.

I have the name of the person in charge of author relations, and an e-mail address for submissions (queries) if you're interested.

I don't know anything about them, other than their former relationship with Thomas Nelson, but they are certainly located in a nice part of town.

Thanks; not for me. My books would give the CBA hives. :D I'm just trying to be Room Mother for the peeps here.

I read the releases and the website--still don't see the words I'm watching out for. I've emailed them.

I didn't actually visit the website. I just posted what was listed.

How come all my suspicious hackles are raising about this? Methinks this might be one for Bewares/Background Checks -- maybe someone outside this set of threads might know something about this house.

Well I hope someone will find out something about the new publishers, the more we Christians have to choose from, I would think it would make it easier to get published. Of course I'm totally new and don't have a clue what I am talking about and could very well be wrong.

8 days since I emailed and I haven't heard one peep out of them. I'm going to port this thread to BR&BC. The minds on that board have better fu than me.

ToTestify, the tried-and-true way to get published is: Write a compelling book. Polish your ms. till it shines. Research agents. Send your query/proposal out in small batches to appropriate agents. Start a new book while you're on the query-go-round. As Rs come in, send it out to a new agent. The agent is the person who will get editors to pay attention to your book. :)
