Here is my die-of-laughter-question.

How in the heck do you get your manuscript printed off your computer?

::Take a minute to laugh, and then control yourself::

I'm not an idiot and know you can just print it off the computer, but what if your manuscript is like 500 pages, and that is with editing already? Do you have to take your flash drive or hard drive with you to get it printed off professionally and then send to the publisher? No one has ever given me a straight answer to this. So, if anyone could... please do!

Ok, so now we're in the right place.

Yeah, you could save the whole thing to a jump drive and take it to your local office supply place (Staples, Kinkos, etc.)

Or, buy a ream or two of paper and an ink cartridge and do it yourself. A phone call to said office supply place will tell you which is cheaper.

What Williebee said (if you have a good printer).

Whichever route you choose, just be sure to use a good quality paper (20 or 24 pounds, with a good brightness scale).

One thing I might do before committing to any form of printing is determine whether my genre supports a first novel by an unknown of that length. Neither of the two I write it would consider it--but maybe yours would.

Or maybe you prefer to do your editing for length on paper; it's different printed than on the screen for many of us.
