You need to go to Query Tracker and see who reps your genre. Once you have a list, then come back here and check out your possibilities in Bewares and Background checks.

Hi! And welcome!:welcome: There are lots of agents to choose from, so might want to check out Query Tracker as you can do a search on your genre and it'll give you a list, which you can check over here at the B & BC. You also might want to go to the bookstore and check out books that are similar to yours and read the acknowledgment section to see who their agents are.

Also, have you had other people than yourself read your manuscript? If not, I would HIGHLY suggest it so you have the best chance you can get. You can either go here to find a beta reader or you can post your first chapter in the SYW area, password vista and get some feedback to make sure you're heading in the right direction.

They also have query letter hell, which can help you make sure your query letter is in the best shape it can be before you start querying.

At least take a look around those areas, because it's informative to say the least. And you can see what kind of critiques others give.

But...what kind of dark fiction? YA? Adult? Horror, science fiction, fantasy? In other words, what exactly is your genre? Narrowing it done can help us help you, as we may be able to make a few suggestions.

In the meantime, stay a while and check out the rest of the boards. :D

I'm surprised you made it here by that method. A lot of google terms will lead you straight into the waiting arms of vanity publishers. I think modeni might be better off asking questions here. :)

Googling is actually what landed me here five years ago. :)

But I think thothguard51 might have been hinting that the OP try doing some of the research on their own, rather than asking us to provide him/her with a list of agents to query. And agentpaper provided him/her with some resources to do just that.
