How do you get a big avatar?

When you go to change your avatar, it only allows custom images up to 80x80 pixels - yet I've seen people with huge avatars that are definitely bigger than my little 80x80 icon. Any help for a clueless newbie? :D

And then there are the people on whom Mac spontaneously bestows avatars. All bets are off on those . . .

There are free image editors, like Google's Picasa, and Flickr and Photobucket have image re-sizing abilities.

There are also problems from time to time with uploading an image for an avatar or profile from a URL having to do with how vBulletin handles the copying of the image.

Lots and lots of pills.

Go to the ER if your avatar does not return to normal size in four hours, or if you experience pain, shortness of breath, or light headedness.

I once rubbed a rash ointment too close to my avatar and it swelled up 4-5 times its normal size. Took 5 days for it to return to normal size. Scared the hell out of my GF...

Wait, was that an orange? It looked like a brain upside down with a frog thing stuck in the middle....to be honest I tried to avoid looking at it.
