Proposing a Series question

Does anybody have any links, ideas, sample synopsis, etc. on proposing a book series? I am about ready to send off my MS but it is going to be the first of a series. How do I propose that? I'm not sure if I put it in a cover letter, at the end of my synopsis or if I even mention it at all.

If anybody could help point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!

Heck, that's easy!

This first in a series, full length (100,000+) paranormal adventure is set in the city of Denver, CO. It’s told in first person, from the heroine’s POV. It is late summer in the present time, in an alternate reality.

All done!

I believe in writing "Stand Alones" and if the publisher wants to make a series out of it, then great.
