Is there a market for a biopic or is there no point?

I mean biopic in the sense of a Margaret George book. I wanted to write a biopic on an a historical figure, and it will be almost like a biography, but obviously with a HUGE fictional element, as we're in the character's/person's brain.

whether or not there is a market is not going to sway me from writing it, but i was just curious if there is one?

It's better to concentrate on writing the book you want to write and write it well, rather than thinking about where it fits in the market.

The main thing, if you're basing it on a historical figure, is making sure your research is sound.

err not biopic lol that's for movies. and yes thank you. i was going to write it anyway, no one has wrote anything about this particular person, despite the fact that we HEAR his work all the time. lol. i was just wondering after i finished it if there was a market, i don't care either way. lol

Cuious why you are asking, if you don't care?

I have written a story that I knew hadn't been written about before, but well, I kind of care if it would be read.

well, i was just wondering. i feel like this particular person's story should be told, and i am in the mood to get passionate about a subject, for a while. but as u know, finishing/researching a book is one thing, and landing representation is TOTALLY another thing, and just wanted to know if there was a market for it.

Ah, if you are passionate for a subject, write it - I would suggest. No harm can come from it...at the very least just the writing of it is invaluable even if it doesn't sell, and I might be smacked but I would worry about markets later.

If you write a damn good story, regardless of subject, it has as much a chance of getting picked up as a story you wrote aimed for a particular market....and let's not forget that markets change all the time.

The next big selling genre or story, that we are not aware of or expecting is probably being written as we speak or has just been finished....

I would suggest you write what is in your heart - what makes you want to sit at the typewriter (yeah I know they are computers these days) hour after hour in solituted.
