I take it all back about my netbook

I hate the little POS!

I made a long list of little things that have been annoying me, and was all ready to call tech support, only I checked my warranty and it ran out 40 days ago. I was too busy at the end of school to think about it and thought I had lots of time. Damn.

The one thing I can't fix for free is the SD drive, but at least they make USB adapters for those. And that problem started after the warranty expired anyways.

Oh, and I never could get to my backup partition.

And all those stupid software problems that are Toshiba related, not malware/virus related.

As soon as I can afford it, I want a low to mid range laptop that can do things like photo editing. Once I do that, maybe I'll put Linux on this bloody annoying thing and it will behave better.

Any suggestions for a reasonably light, sturdy, not too expensive laptop?

A... a... Mac? *mainstream pop culture mind explodes*

I will say I enjoyed my netbook overall, for most of the year, despite its quirks. It served its purpose. But for 350 plus additions, you'd think it could stop pissing me off in a downward spiral. And I am still using it in the meanwhile...

I've read they are hit or miss, particularly with the ram. I don't know why the lack of consistency in function.

It's (mostly) working for now, but it feels good to vent!

Been looking at those Macbooks. Anyone know if the DVD player is region free? My next laptop must have a region free player or almost half my (small) DVD collection is gonna collect dust.

For that matter, can you just run something like VLC player without issue or will some overriding force stop you with certain laptops?
