Today while research an essay on cultural anxieties in Jekyll and Hyde:

'Capitalisation: individuals were parasitic on each other.'

Duh! That should have been 'Capitalistation.'

:scared:

Do we all get to invent words related to states of becoming? I am not yet fully coffeeized (that's coffeeised for you Brits and Canadians), but last night I was winified after a suitable dinnertudization.

I don't buy the word 'capitalistation' for the state of becoming a capitalist. It just seems silly.

Maryn, also silly

That seems...sort of odd to me. Maybe I'm missing something, though.

"Capitalisation" means "Writing in capital letters," but it also means "The act of capitalizing on an opportunity", which is how the word was used.

Many words have more than one meaning, so there's no spelling error with this one.

It's the "capitalistation" that's getting me.

Isn't that where capitalists catch the train?

Waah-waah-waaaahhhhhh.

When I worked in finance (a life-force-draining job if ever there was one) I would repeatedly mis-spell "account" as "acocunt." Almost every time. I usually caught the error, but I frequently did not. I wonder whether it was my subconscious speaking out about what I really thought of my job.

There must be someway to work "acocunt" into the English langauge. That one is too good not to use.

The erotica writers are going to snatch 'acocunt' away from her, pun fully intended.

I recently noticed a typo in a play that I had already submitted. I put "blood-cuddling" rather than "blood-curdling". Maybe I've invented a new sub-genre: really sweet vampires. Next, My Little Pony, the Vampire.

;-)

I typo 'My elf' rather than 'Myself' a LOT. Seriously. There are so many elves in my stories.
