I have seen three or four episodes of it and I have been hooked since day one. For a bit, I thought it would be troublesome having such a large cast so early (see, for example, Scrubs where it focused on JD, Elliot and Turk with the rest spinning around then and reaching a point where even the extras became memorable secondary characters) then you realize that's an advantage since you have a nice solid cast to twist as much you wish.

And another thing I love about it is that this is the first time I see a US college movie/show and I feel related to it. Colleges here don't have fancy dorms, nor classrooms for one hundred people; so I watch it and I actually feel some of that has happened to me, my crappy college is plastered on TV.

Plus is great to see Chevy Chase working again.

So anybody feel like talking about this show again?? I do! I recently re-watched all three seasons on Netflix and am now suffering from withdrawal and kind of debating if I should just start watching them over again. I really think this show is all kinds of awesome, though now with Dan Harmon gone who knows which way it will go when they FINALLY air the season in Feb.

So . . . any favourite episodes? Characters? Etc? I have to admit I'm a sucker for the parody shows. And does it make me a not as great fan that I prefer (only very mildly though) the western paintball episode to the original?

Anyone want to chat? Otherwise I shall begrudgingly let this thread sink back to 2010 from whence it came . . . :(

I love it! Though I'm a sucker for parody episodes as well (with the L&O one being so top-notch).

My favorite episode? Mmm. Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design. It shows Annie, Jeff, Britta, Abed and Troy doing some of their best. My favorite bit? Diorama car bombing.

I'm a huge fan of this show as well. I can't believe they aren't showing any new episodes until Feb. I think probably the D&D episode is my favourite... but it's a very difficult choice. It's nice to find some other people who like it! I don't know if they've ever even shown it in NZ.

As for favourite character, it's a toss up between Troy and Abed. Used to be Abed alone, but Troy just got more and more interesting as they went along. (so maybe my favourite character is Troy and Abed sewn together?)

Here in Venezuela it was shown on Sony Latin America in prime time along with 30 Rock, but last time I checked it got sent to Sunday afternoons before getting both pulled out before their respective third and fifth season finales.

That especially sucks since the third season finale actually had a bit of a lead up. I hope there weren't people left hanging, unable to find out what happened to the Dean!

I don't understand why it isn't more popular, here and everywhere else.
Although I have friends who just didn't like it that much.
I guess it appeals to me so much because I'm a big media geek and I get most of the references. The average NZer might not get them.

Actually, now that I think about it, it might have played on cable here for a while. I don't actually watch that much live TV anymore so I never know what's on.

I love the L&O episode too! Just genius.

Yeah, I find it odd it isn't as popular, and it can't just be the pop culture references as THE FAMILY GUY thrives on that - though that was once canceled...

I think the problem is it's kind of hard to explain what the show is. It's one of those you have to see it to get it.

Troy and Abed in the morning!

Heh, I saw a meme once (which I can't seem to find) where they had pictures of the characters in the many, many different costumes they've worn over the series and a caption like... what is this show about again?

They ought to use snaps of Britta and Annie oil wrestling as publicity. That'd get the public watching.

Apparently Sony Latin America moved it to 2 PM on Sundays without saying a thing. Now I will see the finale on reruns.

Speaking of it, most of the people here I know who watches the show do so online, generally on illegal ways. Considering how the core of the show seems to be somewhat Geeky 15 to 35 years old people, then I wonder how this affects the show.

Even so, I feel the show simply is not for everyone. It's for those who love things like The IT Crowd and The Mighty Boosh.

By the way, forgot to mention: I'm almost sure I saw the guy who plays Starburns (who is also one of the writers in the show) on the Puerto Rico airport while boarding to NYC. He spoke flawless Spanish, which made me doubt perhaps it could be him, but I kick myself for not asking him or something. But on the other hand, what would have I said? Perhaps I would have been pesky to him.

It's difficult to know... he might be happy to have people coming up and saying hi if he isn't recognised very often.
On the other hand, I always err on the side of not doing that when I see celebrities. I know it would drive me crazy to have people coming up to me all the time without being able to control it.
And I've seen both of the Flight of the Conchord guys several times in Wellington, so that was a pretty tough thing to stick to :)
Starburns is pretty awesome though. The fact that he's a writer makes it even more awesome... I don't know if many people would write themselves a character like that.

I really really want them to just straight up replace Chase without saying anything. Just have the new guy walk in and have the rest of the cast call him Pierce and then crack obscure jokes about it.
I also hope they get a decent new guy.
Chase seems like an arsehole but he had the character down.

Can.Not.Wait. I will unleash unfathomable fury on those responsible if this gets cancelled too soon. 6 seasons and a movie. :)

Love it! Love it! Love it!

Yes!! This is seriously one of the best shows on TV, and it just doesn't get enough credit. Troy and Abed are two of the wildest and most loveable characters ever.

I can't wait! I started watching the series for a second time from the beginning recently because I was having withdrawals. :D

Hey Steven! Do you get this in real time in NI? (Like, not a year delayed the way we have to watch Downton Abbey?) Awesome! My SIL/BIL live in Germany and they can't get any US TV. Not even on satellite. Germans protect their airwaves, I guess??

Nah I just watch it online. I can't be assed with commercials etc. Never mind waiting all year for it haha.

Yeah, it got a little bit too repetitive for my taste in some ways (although I still enjoy the heck out of it).
If too many episodes are based around an explicit examination of the ethos of the show, it eventually becomes a bit of a navel-gazing exercise imo.... you need action that hasn't had a line drawn under it at some point or it's annoying.
It'll be interesting to see what happens this season.

Any thoughts on the new episode? I haven't seen it, so I want to know about its quality.
