Remove formatting button has red X

Hi everyone,
I'd like to copy/past some text with formatting like colors, italics, and the like. I've done it before, but now the Formatting button to the left of the font box has a red X through it and everything is plain text.

It does work within this box. For example:~~Test~~

Any idea how to fix this? It was like this last night too on a different computer.

My best guess is that you have image display switched off. I don't know what browser you're using, but mine does it with one keypress, and I sometimes do it accidentally.

Thanks Matera. I looked up how to do that and tried it. It's still x'ed out. This is going to drive me nuts until it's fixed! I'll look into your suggestion a little more though, an incorrect setting sounds right.

Empty your Browser cache. Quit the browser completely. Restart browser. Try again.

^-- that too! Indigestible matter in a browser cache is pure pizen. If you don't have CCleaner, I advise installing it, because it cleans temporary files better than Windows itself does. Just be sure to un-check anything you don't want done (for instance if you like to keep your cookies for convenient automatic logins). It's been my trusted friend for years.

I've tried it all. But it's the same on 3 computers
