I want funny and odd independant films that you walked away and said that was weird, but I loved it.

Mine are:

Buffallo 66
Crash or whatever it's called(People get off on crashes)
Blue Velvet
Spun
Exotica
Valley of the dolls

There is many others but I can't think of the titles.

'Til Human Voices Wake Us

I loved this movie. It's an Australian film that wasn't widely released here in the US, but so good.

I'll see if I can stump you

The God's Must Be Crazy (all time winner)
The God's Must Be Crazy II same thing

I know damn well nobody will ever get these

When Women Had Tails (Italian-made)
When Women Lost Their Tails

Fargo (Don't know it that qualifies--the Cohen Brothers)

Triceratops

How is the god's must be crazy even remotely interesting? It's just a lame documentary. I couldn't stand that thing and could only watch a few minutes at times. It's on tonight on IFC.

Fargo? I don't remember anything intersting or unusual about that movie if it was, I would have since the thing plays like almost every week on satellite.

The female actress for Fargo pulled an academy award for that performance. I think what made it interesting to me is that is was a true story.

The Gods must be Crazy was so stupid, and the cinematography so rank, that the movies were actually funny. Sarcastically funny.

Tri

You know I have to admit the God's must be crazy was entertaining because it had that one chick thatlikes to go topless in a lot of independant movies. Those parts were entertaining so It's alright, but definitely not what I'm talking about in this thread.

Err, no it wasn't. They just said it was a true story as part of the mythology. (ie: They lied)

Gosh, I feel really guilty. All these Aussie movies that every one likes that I haven't seen.

I saw 'Mad Max' but not 'Mad Max II - Road Warrior'.

Have you seen it? It is NOT a documentary.

It's a beautiful piece of low budget cinema.

Seriously. How many films got a cinema release where the ONE PERSON was the producer AND editor AND writer AND director AND actor ?

And it had such a simple story. Yet it was so successful.

I suspect a lot of independant film makers could learn from TGMBC.

Mac
(And is it just me, or does the style with the narrator sound just like 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' ?)

Welcome To The Dollhouse

I forgot PI.

I actually thought of welcome to the dollhouse but felt that doesn't qualify really as a movie that I felt was just weird.
