AAAAAAHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGG!
I’ve just spent almost a week, 12 hours a day, pouring over my novel, readying it for submission, and I’m only a little bit closer. I’m burned out from editing. I hate editing; I want too write. I don’t have the literal gift to mess with the spelling and punctuation.
I think I should rest for a month, perhaps play a little on the beach, maybe hit the blue waters of the Gulf Stream for some cobia and kingfish, but I can get those in 45 feet of water off shore. It would be nice to make a run for it 150 miles on the other side of the Gulf Stream to see what I could gather up for the icebox.
Downriggers, outriggers, flat lines; Atlantic Cod, Bigeye Tuna, Blackfin Tuna; action! But, stupid me, I will probably hit the book again, or maybe say the hell with it and submit it anyway.
If it were not for our British ancestry, I wouldn’t need to deal with commas, apostrophes, and...and...two different meanings and spelling of our words we use today. Did someone say we couldn’t include humor in a Thriller/Suspense novel?
Yes, having a sense of humor is just so....un British, My Lord, soon these heatherns will be laughing aloud, running amok with farm animals and God forbid they should disrupt our Midday Tea! CHARLES!... CHARLES!... CALL THE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY! I do believe that I have upset myself beyond any soon recovery.
It seems as though I remember someone said something like this before.
