image in signature section

I'm sure this is somewhere on the forum, I serched, but didn't find anything. How do you get an image in the signature section of the posts? I wanted to use the one of my NaNo book. I managed to do the link right at the NaNoWriMo site, but when I do it here, I only see the html code and link in words.

Use BB code image tags, not HTML, e.g.

[IMG]http://www.website.com/imagename.jpg[/IMG]

Thanks. Took a bit. Did it in MS Publisher as I didn't have a very good graphics program. Although now I do on hubby's laptop.
