I'm sorry if this isn't the right place for this question but here goes anyway:

What is Pay Pal and is it normal to be paid your royalties from a publisher(from one country to another) via Pay Pal?

Many many thanks for what is probably a very naive question. I did Google Pay Pal and read what Wikipedia had to say, but it was more about paying - not receiving.

It is a way to transfer money from one Paypal account to another or from one bank account or credit card into your Paypal account through Paypal. You pay fees to PayPal everytime you receive money. You can transfer those money from PP to your own bank account, at no cost I think.
It is safe enough but sometimes they put your money on hold until you explain how, why, when and from who you received those money.
I don't know if it is used from publishers

Yes, I've heard of it before used with publishers. It's just a secure way to send money transfers.

Thank you so much for that information. Do you know how much the transfer fee is? (I looked at Paypal's site but it's more geared to paying than receiving and doesn't mention fees).

PayPal may or may not be the best way to go for international transactions. PayPal fees are generally pretty high, so definitely figure out what fees apply and how much they would be. In addition to transaction fees, the exchange rate might not be as favorable, and there might be international payment fees as well.

That said, most banks have pretty hefty international wire transfer fees, so I guess my advice would be to figure out which form of payment has the fewest/cheapest fees and go with that. Not knowing the amounts involved or the frequency of payment, that's the best advice I can give.

Many thanks IndieWriter. Fees are always pretty high USD/Euro, but since the Publisher doesn't seem to want to pay any other way - I'll have to put up with it, I guess.

Thanks also bonitakale - the page was useful (and who knows how much I'll make? Nothing probably!).
