First and Last Lines

I thought it'd be fun to see first and last lines from other people's work. If your last line gives too much away, and you're worried about it, you don't have to post it.

Here are mine for SM:

First:
The bright blue motel gets smaller through the back window of the car as we drive away.

Last:
"Magic."

For ME:

First:
Kearly Ashling squirmed on a tree branch, careful not to slip and fall.

Last:
Kearly couldn’t see anything but her and him.

Okay, since I don't have a last line for DG yet, I'll have to just use Tainted:

First:
In the few minutes it took Genna and me to cross the quad, my morning plummeted from kinda average to seriously sucktastic.

Last:
The sound of Logan’s soft laughter warming my insides, I snuggled even closer and settled in for the long ride home.

From LS:

First: Eric was the biggest playboy trapped in a virgin's body I would ever know.

Last: "Whatever you say, Mai." He blew a kiss and walked out of the school for the last time.

FIRST: I heard it the moment I pushed through the double doors into the front lobby

LAST: But no matter what happened, our love would still be there—trying to shine through whatever dark times came

I love the juxtaposition of the first and last lines. Sometimes they almost tell a story themselves.

Also I notice that some of us (like me) can kinda find common threads in our different first and last lines. Like Eric and DL couldn't be more different, but I could totally put LS's and DL's first lines together and last lines together and they would flow perfectly.
