Say a main character goes by a nickname, such as Jenny for Jennifer. The other main character always calls her Jennifer, but to everyone else, she's known as Jenny. Should I use her full name throughout the synopsis, or introduce her by her full name and then go on to use the nickname?

your synopsis should be written in omniscient, so whatever the omniscient narrator would call her (not how different characters would).

I'd use the full name to introduce her, then call her Jenny after that. Really, do whatever you're comfortable with. It won't make or break your synopsis--just be consistent.
