Okay, so I just got an awesome compliment from a pro-script reader at one of the big five production companies!! She said my script was "Smokin' hot!" Unfortunately her boss isn't looking for this genre at the moment.

What compliments have you recieved about your writing recently that made you all warm and fuzzy?

Mostly inside my own head.
A royalty check.

;)

Seriously, the best compliment I've ever received is, from readers, the simple, "Please don't ever stop writing."

One of those can keep you going for weeks.

Recently? I've been on a dry run. I'm waiting...

I once got fan mail from Ann Jillian. That was nice.

I always doubt myself so much, even the slightest compliment can be powerfully energizing.

Scarletpeaches told me a while back, regarding one of my WIP's, "If this isn't published, I'll eat my own head." My other favorite was when she read a particular bit from my last WIP and came back with, "You completely talented shit" (followed by an angry smiley).

No one gives compliments quite like SP. :D

I agree. Every time she says she hates me, I feel a love so big!

Well..."I really like this," doesn't properly convey the violence of my love.

That in itself is a compliment.

I hate you long time.

The violence of my love. That is made of so much win.

I could probably come up with a list of the top 10 most bizarre, but flattering compliments I've ever received, and they would all be from you.

Well, take this with big helping of salt please, since the work didn't warrant it to my present mind but sure was nice then :)

When I walked in on my daughter reading my first story, crying a bucket. I think it was the highest compliment possible! (I know...kinda strange thing to say huh? lol)

A couple of online friends read my stories, one mailed them to me to be signed and another drove here to get his signed.

:( I want a scarletpeaches compliment.

Seriously, the best compliment I received was from Daved MacAfee. He betaed my PR, and for several chapters he emailed me with comments prefaced by a version of "This isn't my genre, so..." or "I don't read this genre at all, but..." (Which is why I asked him, yanno. Totally objective crit.) And then about 1/3 of the way in, he emailed: "I'm hooked." And described how he was reading it in the car, at lunch, and so on. :D :D :D

The second-best was from III, who once sent me a two-word compliment, in HUGE type, with several exclamation points, referring to *the* plot twist in the mystery. Yeah, that made me happy.

That's always a big compliment to me, too, when someone tells me my story made them cry.

:( I want a scarletpeaches compliment.

There's the other side of the coin too...the scarletpeaches criticism. Usually in the form of, "SORT IT, SHITHEAD *angry smiley*"

I don't hate you as much as some people. :e2teeth:

The violence of your love is breathtaking.

I recently had Kate Schaffer Testerman (kt literary) mention a line from my manuscript on one of her blog posts. "You had me at . . ." were her words. That was pretty darn nice!

At this point, the only compliment that'll make me feel warm and fuzzy is an offer of representation.

So within the context of this thread... I haven't received any compliments recently... or ever.

I'll represent you...in a murder trial...if you kill Judaspeaches right now.
