For what it's worth, my EC numbers fall in line with the majority in the 1-5K range. I can't say anything about the other pubs I've recently sold to since I haven't received any royalty checks yet. I'm interested to see if I fall in the averages.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

It's too bad that the "under $500" couldn't have been a bit more specific.

Who took this survey and where was it originally posted? Just curious.

Marianne Lacroix hosted the survey. I would assume a wide number of epublished authors took it. I can't remember if I followed the link from the ESPAN RWA blog or if I received it on one of my publisher loops.

What I would be interested in is learning what romance writers in general think of the Kindle as a publishing format. Do they think that the Kindle has a chance of surviving and doing well, or is it just a fad? Are their ebook writers who are making any money on Kindle?

Kindle is a fairly trivial proportion of my ebooks earnings. I see it as just another ebook format. But you might want to start a new thread about this rather than derail this one?

From what I've seen, the only people making money on Kindle is Amazon, or perhaps the odd self-pubbed author who knows how to work the system. Amazon deeply discounts the book, so even if you sell mega-copies, it amounts to pennies when all is said and done from my experience. I don't knock Kindle at all, it has probably driven the odd reader to my books who may not have seen them otherwise. Do I think it will be the digital/ebook break though? No.
