Do you believe in angels?

I just want to state for the record that I do.

I'm currently having my autobiography manuscript edited but I talk about angel interventions.

I do believe in them, but I believe they only act as agents for God the Father, not on their own, and I am pretty sure that many so-called "sightings" are something else altogether (not saying yours were, though - only you - and God - really know about that).

Sounds like your guardian angel was working overtime... :eek

MrAngelwithnowings

i agree

I agree about angels doing God's will.

In my manuscript I called on God each time, not on any angel.

I was aided by an angel as a result. I knew it was God's doing and I thanked God each time in my manuscript.

God is real. I dont want any reading thinking that i'm preaching it. I'm just letting people know how having faith in God helped me in my life.

A testimony......

Me too

Something happened last year at our house, to one of my teenage sons. He, and the rest of my family, strongly believe he was guided by angels.

I am writing a book about Angels!

THus obviously I believe in them!

I feel fated to have connected with you/read your post because the novel is about someone who becomes a guardian angel to someone on earth - but he's different than most angels in heaven.

He IS: Mr Angel with no wings! ;'))

And thus its part of the whole story....

I would love to talk to you in more detail about angels, your beliefs/story and my book as well.

Thanks!

I believe they exist, yes, in the manner in which the Bible describes them. I believe, as Betty mentioned, that they do the will of God the Father, therefore I'm against giving angels credit or glory. Rather I believe in giving all credit and glory to God. After all, the Bible does forbid the worshiping of angels.

When I get around to it, I will forward an angel experience to you - it is in my personal testimony. God does some very mysterious things with his angels, and I thank him over and over for offering angel protection to me - especially, one time in my life - when they were so evident.

Absolutely!! They are created beings in God's realm and I fear without them all of us would be in a world of hurt. I agree, also, that scripture forbids the worship of angels.

... not really, but they are neat. They're the personification of good as far as I know and are pure through and through: wanting the very best for others and feeling great sadness when others are unhappy. No matter what ones belief how can one possibly not respect angels and hold them up as exemplary models of goodness to follow? The status of their existence is quite besides the point.

I definitely believe in angels, cherubim, seraphim who serve God the Father. I believe that angels are created beings, like humans are created beings, but that they exist in spirit, manifesting themselves when God charges them to, like Michael and Gabriel in the Bible. I also believe that there are fallen angels who don't serve God, but that's another topic!

Ken, part of me is just itching to know what compelled you to pull up this 6-year old thread. ;)

And yes, I do believe in angels, though I believe that they are free moral beings with the capacity to not be good. In other words, I believe only God has that pure, good nature that personifies Good.

... well Pat, seein' that you are into antiques, okay if I mention that? , part of my motivation was that I just love all things from the past including threads. And I am sure I am a bit biased about this, but to me things of the past are more often better than things of the present. Shh, please keep that to yourself ;-) This thread also seemed particularly neat. It's a nice and simple question, and oft times those are the best. What I like most about them is that they get folk that wouldn't ordinarily participate, participating. And there you have it :)

As to the point you raise, I'll resist adding my two cents since it would be just that. Perhaps after some additional thought on the matter I'll weigh in. I know you've arrived at your own perspectives after much consideration. Only fair I do them justise by giving them some time's reflection.

Till then I bid you a good and uplifting holiday :)
Same to those above, if they're still members even ;-)

Good Catholic that I am... No, I don't believe in them.

But I wonder.

My mother had a serious heart attack on 9/11. Maybe if the angels hadn't been busy that day...

I should really start going back to Mass.

Regards

Whacko

Aw, Ken, you are so sweet to indulge my curiosity. ;D You know I was just kidding you...but I, too, love the old stuff (and frequently return to it), so have no problem with old threads at all. It's just uncommon to find these come back up, and the uncommon always makes me curious.

Have a super holiday week.

Whacko, I believe the angels are always busy, even during tragic circumstances. They don't always prevent the bad stuff, but probably do so far more often than we'd suppose. And the angels are the ones who will finally escort us from this temporal life to the next--so even in death, they're ultimately busy.

Thankfully they were too busy to escort my dear mama to the next life.

Hold on, if I'm arguing for angels, does that mean I believe in them?:D
