Does anyone else do this for each screenplay? I find it is a great way to not only set up goals for myself as I complain about the obstacles I am facing at the beginning of a writing session. It also helps me in keeping track of changes I have made etc.

I was just going over some old entries from previous years and it was really rewarding to see how I have grown as a writer in terms of dealing with structure and character dynamics.

I find that most ideas come at the most inopportune time and place. A jounal or notebook becomes a pain to carry and use and my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

That is why I have a digital voice recorder about the size of a bic lighter. I keep it with me always and record any and everything that comes to mind. Whenever needed, I download to my computer and log them into a searchable and functional database for that project.

Well worth the bucks I spent.

I normally carry a pocket sized moleskin notebook with my laptop. It is easy to access and allows me to sketch out storyboards at the same time which is invaluable to me.

I agree though Joe, the pen recorder is a great tool!!!

I want one of those. How does it download on your computer? Text or sound? Would be great if it translates to text. How much did you spend? And does it work on Macs? How many minutes can it record?
