Hey all! :hi: If this is not the right forum to post this question in, please, would one of the Mods move me? Thanks!

OK, my friend found a quote that goes with my book. It is Psalm 75:10. If the book were published, it'd be on one of those pages before you get to the actual story...you know, like where the acknowledgments page is and stuff like that.

My question is this. Do I put this qoute in my original manuscript, or wait and discuss it with the publisher?

Put it on a separate page just before the first page (Chapter 1) of the manuscript.

Do not number the page in any way. However, I would put my name and the title of the novel in the header, just to protect the page from being misplaced.

It's not quite clear to me what the purpose of the quote is. Is it a sort of thanks or acknowledgment of whatever assistance or inspiration it provided, or does it relate directly to the story, leading into it in the same way chapters which open with quotations lead to those chapters?

If it's thanks or acknowledgment, skip it for now. If it applies to the story, submit with a cover page (title, contact info, etc. in standard form), then a page for the quotation, with a normal header as if it were a page of regular text making up page one of your book, then start chapter one on the third sheet of paper.
