The only movie that ever made me run out and buy both the soundtrack and the screenplay on the same day.
But then it just happened to be one of the few screenplays in book form available in my neighborhood.
I saw the movie again on TV recently, and it's still as good.

What makes Jackie Brown, in your opinion, Tatantino's best film?
Well, I really wanted to find out other people's opinions, but for me...
It's certainly Tarantino's most mature film. For one, it keeps the nerd reference humour and silly violence to a minimum and can actually stand on its own two feet without them. It also doesn't rely on catchy dialogue: these characters don't have to speak in slogans to make their point. Moreso than that, it's funny, involving and actually quite moving: the relationship between Jackie and Max is great, and the theme of becoming old and irrelevant seems to reflect the director's anxieties that could have brought him to grow up a bit. Add to this Tarantino's characteristic stylishness (if not style) sans the showyness and we've got quite a movie on our hands.
