Hello all,

I just wanted to mention that I recently watched the 'Panic Room' special edition DVD with a superb commentary by screenwriter David Koepp and guest William Goldman. I'm sure many will have watched it themselves but for those that haven't, both writers offer interesting and compelling debates about technique and craft. In particular, Goldman discusses how there is really no right way to tell a story; that it's about individual choices made by the writer. Sounds like a no-brainer, I know, but for example, Koepp confines all the action to the house whereas Goldman says he may have cut outside from time to time. Neither method is 'right' they are both simply iterations of the screenwriting process.

There's plenty of other good stuff on this commentary and I'd recommend it to other writers, especially considering most DVD extras tend to focus on all aspects of production. Heads-up about other screenwriting commentaries would be appreciated. 'Pleasantville' has a good one by writer/director Gary Ross.

I'd be extremely interested if there's a commentary by Charlie Kauffman in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
