Change in website size

Usually it means some designer is working on a BIG screen (probably a 21" or bigger... *wipes drool*) and "forgot" to take into account that many (perhaps most) web users are still using older, smaller monitors with lower resolution.

You might try upping your resolution... go to Control Panel--> Display--> Settings Move the Screen Resolution slider. 800X600 used to be standard, but now I think most places deman 1024 NEVER hit OKAY until you are sure it will work on your monitor-- hit APPLY first. (Directions for WinXP or earlier... Vista's ... different.) Some older monitors/ video cards can't handle higher resolutions.

Warning: Upping the resolution WILL make your icons on your screen... smaller. You may need to play with the other controls in the Display options to ensure prime viewing.

If on many websites - look at the top left hand corner of your browser for the "view" button - click - scroll to "zoom" and check the size there. In some browsers (Interenet Exploer) it may be under "font" or "font size" or (Firefox) "Text" and "Text size".

By the way - which browser specifically are you using?

800 x 600 is still standard...except when your boss has a bigger screen and doesn't like using zoom and doesn't want the website to be so small.
