So I just have a final polish to do before my agent in London submits to publishers in September. He's filled me in on who his sub-agent in New York is, and I'm very happy that they'll be dealing with things Stateside. Ditto the agency he uses to handle foreign translation rights.
The only sub-agency I'm not overly keen on are the people who will be handling a possible film sale. They're London based and while very strong in terms of representing television writers, I feel this set of rights might be better handled by someone with better connections to the major studios. I'd even be quite happy handing it off to the people in New York.
Now, while this is all very academic, is it appropriate for me to raise this with my agent? And should I do it sooner rather than later?
It feels a little like telling a new partner that you don't like one of their friends. Any advice on the etiquette?
