Hi everyone,

My name is Ree (well it's actually Loreena but I usually get Ree).

I am a stay at home mum of 3 from Australia who stumbled across this great forum during a google search :) I've been lurking for a while, but feel it's time to drop in and say hi.

As for writing...... In school I wanted to be a journalist or a writer but it's just one of those dreams that disappeared out the window as I got older. It dawned on me recently that while I am a stay at home mum I really have nothing to lose by taking some time to get into writing.

I love to read, love to write and love photography but don't get much time to do any of those things to be honest. Most of my writing in the last few years has been academic for university or college courses, I haven't written creatively since highschool but I really like writing articles, and love research although I look forward to exploring creative writing.

My biggest hurdle at this point in time is believing that I have writing ability, having faith in myself, and developing my skills and I really think I have found the perfect home on the internet to achieve that, right here!

I look forward to getting to know you all and discovering what Absolute Write has to offer.

Ree xx

Hi Ree. After nearly forty years of undetected crime - oh sorry. After so long in the public service, I too doubted my ability to write creatively. So I took a TAFE course - with their Open Learning branch so I could study at home. It wasn't a big deal but it gave me the confidence I needed at the time. And it's not expensive. So maybe it could help you.

So good luck and enjoy AW.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, great to meet other Aussies on here too :)

storygirl glad you like the name I was pretty happy with it when it popped into my head LOL...

Mumut that's a great idea I got a brochure for adult ed yesterday and haven't looked at it yet, a short course would be great because i am studying Multimedia at the moment so don't have much time....

I am looking really forward to taking some time to get involved in the forum after I finish my assignment on copyright for multimedia which I have been procrastinating about because it's SO BORING!!!

Thanks again everyone, glad to meet you all and look forward to getting to know everyone :)

Welcome, Ree. I have a niece named Lorena Gay. We called her Rena Gay. My sister thought it a lovely name until a little boy knocked on the door and asked if "Renegade" could come out and play!

I think most of us have those doubts about our writing, at least from time to time. I wonder if they go away when you actually have a book published? Good luck with your writing!
