so far I've written stuff that was auto-biographical or real life characters.

but now I'm facing a problem.

I have a few ideas but these was formed before some incidents happened that changed me as a man and my thought process.

now, I find it hard to connect to these ideas and relate to them.

so how do I go about making scripts of these ideas now?

I am getting more and more confused with your posts and they start raising doubts.
Some might see it as a nice trait that you share very private information so willingly. I'm not among those. More and more, I can't help thinking that something is a little off.
You must have understood that your ambitious project of writing thirteen scripts in less than six months was frowned upon by quite a few forum members here. But that is entirely your thing and if you feel that this will improve your writing, that's fine with me.
What I don't understand is why you keep talking about what you're doing and asking for advice, even though you never posted any excerpts of your scripts in the SYW forum. Again, that is your business.

But today you mentioned an unfortunate incident in your life (which was completely off topic, and was way TMI (too much information). Anyway, you then started a new thread (this one) writing about how after this "life and thought-changing" misfortune you don't know how to write anymore.

Having yet to see a single page you've written, I can't help thinking that this whole thing here might be some sort of big joke that's been going on for quite some time now. How can someone write thirteen scripts in six months (which surely sounds like a 24/7 job) and then ask the question "how do I write scripts from ideas I've already written down"?

If I'm doing you wrong, and you are for real, then I deeply apologize. I don't want to hurt your feelings. It just feels like someone is pulling my leg. I will refrain from commenting this issue any further.

Ps to the mods: Please feel free to delete this post if I've gone over the top.

Well, if you're not connecting to the ideas any more -- why write them? I have a story file full of ideas. When I wrote them down, I thought they were all great and I was really jazzed about them. Some I even started writing and stalled for reason or another. Some of them I may write some day. Most, I'll probably never write.

When you're a writer, you generally have lots of ideas. The trick isn't figuring out how to write all of them. It's figuring out which ideas are *worth* writing. Is it ripe, is it ready to write? If it isn't -- the don't write it. Maybe it'll ripen at some point in the future -- maybe something will click and a stale idea will suddenly get fresh again. Or maybe not.

If not -- who cares? It wasn't meant to be. Go write something else.

I have over 200 story ideas in a story idea folder. There is no way I would ever write all of them. I save them for inspiration, sometimes I combine ideas and other times the ideas are total crap. But I write down everything so I have a wide pool of ideas to pull from.

Write what you have a passion for.

okay, I'll soon post some of my work, I didn't feel the need earlier as I have one proof reader and one coverage service.

as for that unfortunate event.

I was a different man before 2004-05 and had different ideas that I wanted to work on. I wish I had continued being that person because had I continued today I’d be God in my own right.

I went through stuff that I didn’t have to, I made a mistake, had I carried on going through that stuff I would have surely gone insane. After that period, my stories became dark, moody and definitely not the usual 3 act-structures or happy endings of the Hollywood sort.

I remember I was working on my 11th screenplay. I wanted to end the year 2005 with at least one script. with only 17 days left for the year to end. I tried every technique known to me except my old school, then I went to my old school of writing in the book, )hand written) and then typing in the PC and finished off that year with one script.

now I have my mind set on pre-2004-05 ideas and am finding them difficult to go ahead with.

don't take any offense

Why don't you take this free time to sell the dozen scripts you've written this year?

Well, I'm much more of a vulture Than Daydreamer - Tell us more! What happened all the gory details please... And explain why you decided to make the decision you took rather than "Becoming a God in your own right" (Bold Statement).

Also I'm confused; You talk about writing 13 scripts in 6 months yes? And then refer to this "life change" happening in 2004, that was a couple of years ago... Are you saying you haven't had any script ideas since then or is your problem that you thought you were going to write your 13 scripts on ideas you had before 2004 and now you can't identify with any of them?

When did you start writing your 13 scripts and when are you supposed to be complete?

If you want us to help you make scripts of your ideas you are going to have to share them with us otherwise all I can really say is, take the idea define your characters - make an outline - write the script...

I believe Ace started these 13 scripts around January and wants to finish them around July. Also, I think a vast majority of them have been written.
And, that most of them were newer/fresher ideas (post incident). (Correct me if I'm wrong).
Now that ace has written ten or so scripts since January, the well has dried up... so he's gone back to pre-incident ideas. However, he's found himself not enthused about those ideas, as he is a different person now (not God in his own right).

Now, since he's only been able to write about ten scripts this year (probably more than anyone else), he yearns to figure out how to up his total, because, after all, you're nothing if you haven't written 20 scripts in a year (sarcasm), no matter how bad they are. It's quantity, not quality... and any old idea will do... even if it has no luster.

I hope I accurately clarified things.

Okay - That's it! aceinc1, Enough. Its time for you to post some of your work so we can see what the *&%# this is all about. Come-on, lets see if your methods, theories and madness has actually paid off... Surely you can share just one of your scripts. :e2writer: because lets be honest there's prolific :e2BIC: and then there's prolific :e2hammer:
