How do these polls work anyway?

So what gender do you think of for this name: Silex.

Also, what age, nationality, and personality comes to mind?

Sounds Male to me. I guess because it sounds like Silas. The other questions... I don't really see those things from a name.

That's quite the one dimensional character, Rob. Frankly, I'm surprised. I thought you were better than that.

It's just that you've become four-dimensional, Kevin, so I look linear now.

(Where'd I leave that copy of Flatland?)

Sounds masculine, and makes me think of a name that would be in a fantasy or sci-fi novel.

Sounds too much like Tilex, the shower cleaner to me. Sorry.
Yeah, that was kind of my first thought too, some kind of cleaning product.

"Are you embarrassed by ugly mildew on your home? Use new Silex!"

Sorry, hammer.

If I had to choose, I'd say the name was male.

Proctor-Silex. Totally. Maybe a coffee pot.

Guys drink java. Oh, wait. So do I.

Never mind.

Makes me think of a Neo-from-the-Matrix-style dude.

With white-blond hair.

My immediate reactions are very complete!

What gender? I don't think I see it as a gender so much as an inanimate object.

Proctor-Silex is the first thing that came to mind as well.

I don't think I like Proctor either - procto-anything, for that matter.

initial reaction was male. but there's absolutely no reference point for me, so I could be convinced otherwise, in context. if I had to guess nationality or whatnot, I'd guess a fictitious fantasy or sci-fi name.

Male name, not associated with any current culture. If pressed I'd say a male made-up name used by someone either online or on the street. I'd also think it was the only name the person used on a regular basis.

I got the Tilex and Proctor-Silex thoughts as well.

Yep, Proctor Silex was my first thought, too. Then I thought, it could possibly be the name of some futuristic person who wears a lot of silver- *shrugs*
