This thought was inspired by kimmi's post on the Goals and Accomplishments board. Dream agents, dream editors, why not dream casts?

I've had a hell of a time picturing either of my two main characters, but there's a hellfire Hollywood diva in my novel that I wrote with Christina Applegate in mind. Its hard to play it dumb AND be funny, and she'd totally nailed it.

Huh. I think my male MC would be played by someone I recently met, a friend of a friend. LOL. I'm pretty sure he's an actor. And, now that I met him, I kinda assigned him the role in my own head. At least visually.

My 15 year old teen MC will necessitate a nationwide talent search -- can't think of any young actor I'd put in the role. Ditto his female sidekick.

Viggo Mortensen will play the teen MC's father.

Katee Sackoff will play the female lead, in quite a different role from Starbuck. But she's got the look and the angsting ability. Though Kate Winslet would also be nice.

The antagonist will be Jason Isaacs, no substitutions allowed.

Alan Rickman will play the mysterious Mr. Geldman.

Jeff Bridges will be the inimitable Joe-Jack.

We'll also need Andy Serkis in the major role of the slimy squirmy monster.

Still working on casting Nyarlathotep in his humaniform avatar. Anyone know any beautiful, ageless, rather androgynous Egyptian actors?

Are there any websites with lots and lots of photos of actors so I can pick the candidates most suited to the images I have in my head?

And then, ideally, from that narrowed-down pool I'd pick the ones best at acting.

IMDB ain't gonna cut it...

In my first manuscript, I envisioned Heath Ledger as I wrote about the MC, Dylan, . Strangely, Dylan dies in the book.

All right. It would appear that my MC is Seth Green--that's the best I can do.

Haven't found the right actress for the female lead. This is a lot of work ;)

I have the best Seth Green story.

I used to work on a show for adult swim (he has a show on the same network) so we'd end up at a lot of the same parties. I was at the bar at one of these, trying to order a drink and there's this kid in front of me. I'm thinking "Who the hell brought a kid to Mood?" So I start to order my drink over the kid's head... he looks up at me and its Seth Green.

Now, I'm 5'2" and I was wearing platform sandals. But I was a full head taller than him.

Kate Hudson. And her best friend might be one of Kate's real life friends, Liv Tyler.

So what you're telling me is, I just cast a midget?

Maybe I can get away with some camera tricks...

Or just use a cast of short people - worked in The Italian Job - Statham, Mark Wahlberg, Seth Green... I mean, seirously, how they managed to shoot it to look like Marky Mark and Charlize Theron were the same height is totally beyond me.

I haven't thought that far for Ghostly Secrets yet, but for Psychic Straits

Gracie: Michelle Trachtenberg

Her father, Jack: Hugh Laurie

But these are the only two I have in mind really. I have thought about others, but I'm not sure.

Mine would be animated so nobody big named would play my MC, since she doesn't have a voice that I can imagine coming from anyone I know, but I'd like Graham Greene (the actor) to do the voice of my character Glooskap. As soon as I started writing that character that was the voice that promptly popped into my head.

I wouldn't mind Adam Beach showing up to do a voice either! He would be good for my character Cheengwun.

Despite talking for about a solid hour about this once, no one could ever come up with a good idea for who plays my MC. However, we worked out some of the other characters...

Dorian Gray would be played by Christian Bale, with longish hair, but doing the Howl voice, rather than the Batman voice...

Agent Taylor - Kurt Russell, since he can pull of tough, intimidating and emotionless all at the same time.

Mr Jenkins - (pretty much a bit part, the MC's landlord) - Dean Stockwell - I just had him in mind when I wrote the character.

Well, since my MC is patterned after me, the actor would have to be incredibly good looking, muscular and buff, and of course, extremely witty.

Offhand, I can't thing of anyone worthy of that.

Unfortunately, Shadow Ferret, I can't act, or I'd be perfect.

Oh, and I have a great imagination!

I think Kevin Spacey would play Jeff Cormier and Candace Bergen, now that she's put on a little weight, would play Kitty Morse.

The little Breslin girl would play the corpse.
