On other threads I've seen people discuss momentoes of their first sale: a copy of the check, a saved dollar from their first cashed check, and the like. So what's the most common momento? Do most of you actually have one? Anyone have something unusual?
Coincidentally I ran across mine recently; I knew I had it but couldn't remember where I stashed it. It's a form rejection slip with the note: "Really liked this but just bought something similar. Please send another article." I promptly did, it got bought, and I was off and running with my magazine writing. For me it's more meaningful than a money-related symbol because it reminds me that rejection is not always a bad thing.
