Has anyone here read it? I just finished it last night and was in awe of the story. It was fantastic.

I expected it to be so similar to Twilight (which is Stephenie's first novel) and was pleasantly surprised by how different it turned out to be. There was no real antagonist and, strangely, that was part of the appeal of the story. The plot had you constantly torn in two halves - wanting Melanie to be with Jared, or wanted Wanderer to be with Ian.

Stephenie describes the novel as a love triangle only involving two bodies. I was skeptical of that description at first, but I was definitely not disappointed as I turned the last page last night.

I'm a die-hard Twilight fan, but I may actually have enjoyed The Host more. It was so emotional and deep.

I highly recommend this book, if you haven't read it. My heart nearly broke everytime the protagonist(s)'s did. :)

Isn't it phenomenal? As soon as I started it, it was hard to put down.

I was tossing around the idea of reading it, I myself am a die hard Twilight fan - although when my friend first told me what twilight was about I kind of looked at her weirdly and was like "okay?"...I think I'm doing the same thing to The Host..not giving it a chance because it sounds different..but now I think I'll read it :D

I sadly haven't finished it yet. I've had it for over a month, but between being sick and having final projects to do (which I have 5 days to do about 30 mini projects and I haven't started ANY of them) I haven't had chance to get past half way...stupid stupid final projects . I still love it, and think it's once again another stellar, amazing piece of work from the almighty Stephenie Meyer. I don't however love it more than the Twilight series. I don't think any fictional character could ever compete with the greatness of Jasper...
