Has anyone here read it? I just finished it last night and was in awe of the story. It was fantastic.
I expected it to be so similar to Twilight (which is Stephenie's first novel) and was pleasantly surprised by how different it turned out to be. There was no real antagonist and, strangely, that was part of the appeal of the story. The plot had you constantly torn in two halves - wanting Melanie to be with Jared, or wanted Wanderer to be with Ian.
Stephenie describes the novel as a love triangle only involving two bodies. I was skeptical of that description at first, but I was definitely not disappointed as I turned the last page last night.
I'm a die-hard Twilight fan, but I may actually have enjoyed The Host more. It was so emotional and deep.
I highly recommend this book, if you haven't read it. My heart nearly broke everytime the protagonist(s)'s did.

. I still love it, and think it's once again another stellar, amazing piece of work from the almighty Stephenie Meyer. I don't however love it more than the Twilight series. I don't think any fictional character could ever compete with the greatness of Jasper...
