what style do you think is better....or sounds more intersting;
writing a story from start to end...narrative style
or
writing a collection of interlinked chapters/stories..i.e; To Kill a Mockingbird, The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things.

Just wondering what I should do for my WIP..:)

EDIT:
I think I confussed people...I meant the same character telling the story just different ages..and time..

Depends on your story. There is no objectively better or worse style, just styles that serve the story or don't. And styles people like or don't.

What Shweta said. It has to serve the story. If it makes the story better in some way to tell it one way or the other, tell it that way. Sometimes a style or technique will end up with the story elements falling where they need to whereas telling a linear story will give away too much too soon or have the action or climaxes coming in too late, etc. If you're not sure which way to go after looking at the pluses and minuses of each way, follow Charlie Horse's advice. I'm all for experimenting and learning, but sometimes that stuff gets in the way of telling the story.

Don't experiment just for the sake of it. Both styles work and one is not better than the other, its simple a case of what style makes the story come alive and more enjoyable to read.

Looking at my answer this seems to have been said previously, so maybe i should just shut up

In many books alternate chapters show 1st MC and 2nd MC or protagonist and antagonist until the end when they meet for the resolution. Parts of LOTR are like that.

All depends on what I'm trying to accomplish. Personally I like to have more of a narrative story for a single protagonist. If i have multiply MC that are all equally important than I would switch each chapter.
