Talia:
I would hope and certainly expect from reading Miss Snark that she is intelligent enough to know that one does not have to agree with her all the time!
Additionally, in all my posts against Anonymous Experts...
I always singled out Miss Snark as being the one true exception.
Actually presently, and on my blog I did post this as well, after a correspondance with The Rejecter - whom I found to be incredibly nice and really altruistic as well - I put her in Snark's list. Of course she does not have Miss Snark's experience or wealth of knowledge, but she is doing her part.
I still will take shots on my blog at any wannabe who feels putting up an anonymous blog is a way to become an expert, and I will still, without fear, take apart any post I feel, (words here are "I feel" - subjective) to be belittling or just plain stupid. Of which there is a wealth of those on Agent blogs as well.
And I really do not care who says the "stupid" thing. Anonymous or not.
But as Mac requested, all this will be done on my Blog and not at AW.
To be incredibly, how shall I put this here, "straight", without revealing any confidences that I have been asked to keep, I have actually found from the Blog that almost all those I do say something about, initiate a correspondance with me in email, and try to explain themselves. With the exception of one, that has been the case.
Actually a couple of times, I sent a private email about some posts I thought could be read in a different manner than the poster desired, and though I had no clue who the person in publishing was, as I never heard of them, they did change the wording of the posts.
Sometimes we post things on our blogs that are read much differently by people than how they were originally meant. Most normative Literary Agents are professional and intelligent. They are as willing as the next person to admit they made a mistake.
