I'm on a Dean koontz kick right now. I just finished Tick Tock and now I'm reading By The Light of the Moon. Back when he was at the height of his writing powers.

I'm just getting into the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. Also, The Secret History by Donna Tart, Frozen by Melissa De La Cruz and Michael Johnston, Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel, and My Mistress' Sparrow is Dead edited by Jeffrey Eugenides.

With the guy who can't be in sunlight due to a medical condition? Roaming around the deserted AF base? And the monkeys?

Excellent! Easily my Koontz faves. He wrote two of those novels.

Just started The Paperboy, by Pete Dexter. This one was one of blacbird's listed recommendations somewhere or other. I can well see why! It is amazing. Yum!

The Movement of Stars by Amy? Brill. It's starting slow, but I'll read it all anyway.

I am in between books, but I just got done reading The Great Gatsby. Excellent, excellent book. On one of the plot twists I just kept staring at the page repeating "oh my gosh" over and over again.

Next up would be Paige Torn by Erynn Magum.

(Hope it's okay to post about these books in here even though I'm not currently reading either of them. If there's another thread I need to post in I'd be more than happy to move over there. :) )

"Pocket Kings" by Ted Heller. Publisher blurb:

"In this dead-on satire of online obsessions, a novelist with writer’s block finds a new—and very lucrative—stream of income in a virtual world that appears to give him everything he lacks in the real world."

Going to start Schrodinger's Cat, Robert Anton Williams. Was going to start it last night, but I was too tired to start anything new.

Bummer. I hate when that happens. I'm nearly finished with The Paperboy, Pete Dexter; it's intense! but my god the writing is stunningly good.

Spooner, Pete Dexter. Enjoying it so much I didn't want to stop and post about it. Best book I've read in a long long time.

Le Silence de la mer and La Bataille du silence, both by Vercors. I need to give a presentation on the first on Thursday, so I'm using the second as background information...

Vampires in the Lemon Grove by Karen Russell, which I am enjoying.
