^OH! Fire Tornado! I want that one--that looks awesome!! (Although it's weird that the word "killed" is censored...)

Report:
Late, as usual, sorry, but at least it's not just me this time.

Dream Warriors: Haven't moved forward an inch and I'm starting to hate it. Arrrgggh!!

The Yellow Season: Decided to expand it into a novel. I have some characters and a setting a did a lot of world-building for during NaNo a few years ago, and haven't yet found a plot to stick them in. I think this one might work.

Oh, and I have a job interview on Monday. Wish me luck!

Goals:
Dream Warriors: Send the first 50 pages and a plot synopsis to my beta to determine whether it's worth keeping.

Yellow Season: I've been doing a lot of scribbling in my notebook for this one. I'll stick with that until I figure out what to do with the previous one.

Yeah it's pretty scary stuff. I don't understand that.

Sometimes when we are stuck we need to just step back or sit it down for a while.

Good luck on your interview, let me know if you get it. They have a doll for everything.

Good luck with the rest of your goals.

hugs and pushups,

Holy crap, no one else reported last week either? Dang, I thought it was just me. Anyways:

Report:
Dream Warriors--Still haven't sent it to the beta, the reason being I got a second wind and started writing again. I really need to give her the beginning though. So that's goal-not-met, but still progress. I guess.

Yellow Season--Clipping right along in the notebook. No word count yet. About *flips through journal* 35 pages longhand, not including the stuff I've scribbling out, rearranged, etc.

Doppelganger/Escape Artist--I had an idea to combine these two I'd been working on before and couldn't make long enough. A problem I've noticed with my writing, word count wise, is that my plots are fairly straightforward and simple. Meaning, I don't usually have any subplots. Like, at all. It's one conflict and a lot of world building and character development. So maybe if I turn one of the plots from one of these two into the subplot for the other, I think I might have a whole book in there somewhere.

However, I've mostly been working on getting my outfit/references/scheduling availability/headspace ready for this job interview. I saw an image consultant this weekend, along with a small group from my small part-time job, and at first I didn't really like her because she told me to wear more pink and cut my hair. But I did get some good advice about presenting myself and then we all went shopping. And in fairness, there are many different flavors of pink. One says, "I'm a delicate flower, love me, protect me." Another says, "Kneel before my fabulousness, puny mortal." Obviously, one of these suits me better than the other. But royal blue suits me better, so that's what I got. But I'm not cutting my hair. Not until it's long enough to donate again.

Goals:
Dream Warriors--First 50 pages, to the beta, this week, now, let's go, let's go!

Yellow Season--Start typing, get a word count, and a clearer goal.

Doppelganger/Escape Artist--figure out what world to set the combined story in and work out the rules. Also, settle on Plot vs Subplot and find a new title.

Most importantly--ACE INTERVIEW.

Maybe that "stating your goals kills the muse!" thread scared them away.

As to the pic--heee! Okay, that's going to be an icon.

Got the Fire On The Suns: The Sa' Reen Frontier Sector Guide book (1 Sector, 16 Subsectors in an expanse about 40 light years across, mostly unexplored space, with maybe a dozen "civilized worlds" plus maps and full FOTS system details) about 95% put together today. It's over 42 thousand words right now and might rise slightly (mostly subsector survey information). Then I have to figure out how to format the embedded images and one small text box for Smashwords and then it'll be available on Smashwords and in pdf format over at DriveThruRPG and Amazon. It's the first guidebook I've ever done for the Fire On The Suns: A Blaze of Glory RPG so there might be some additional information added to it in the next week (notable individuals, patrons, trade goods, navy base details, etc.). I still need to finalize the Sa'Reen character design details too, but I'm thinking I might make that a short Species Handbook rather than include it in the Sector Guide.... Figured out I might have made a slight map fitting error in the Sector layout, but I can fix that easily enough (by shifting things a couple Subsectors one way or another. My FOTS mapping system actually is working out slightly better than I thought it would at first by overlaying Sectors on top of the Subsectors, but it ought to as I laid out the system almost 18 years ago. Having all the data for over 5 thousand 40x40ly Subsectors and having saved all that data through the years really does come in handy.

The FOTS galaxy map is 80 thousand light years across broken into 4 Quadrants of 250 Sectors and 1000 Subsectors and the scale works near perfectly. I've seen it estimated that there are around 400 billion stars and other "objects" in the Milky Way and at an average of 35 objects per Subsector the FOTS galaxy could have around 600 billion objects on a complete map not counting areas between stellar arms (which I doubt anyone would ever get around to mapping let alone exploring in my lifetime). Counting out space opera "weather phenomena" I'd guess around 400 billion stars in the FOTS galaxy is a reasonable number.

Then there's the planetary systems where there can be from 0-22 major objects in any particular system.

I think I'm going to have to, er, "borrow" a trade system...

Dream Warriors--sent the first 50 pages to the beta for perusal. She's given me a first impression, and she'll send me more detailed notes at the end of the week.

Yellow Season--been typing up a bit, not but much.

Escape Artist--picked a title (obviously), have committed to some characters, working on world-building.

Interview--feel like I did well. Yay! Won't hear back for another few weeks though; they have to call my references and stuff. Fingers crossed!

Goals:

Dream Warriors--read the beta's notes and revise accordingly.

Yellow Season--keep typing, set up a word count goal.

Escape Artist--same.

Been busier than a cat in a sticky litter box, but I did manage to get another thousand words written on Porter's Way. I'm trying to finish that one this weekend.

You are always a work horse, Greg. You got quite a bit done so you get a hug too.

Published around 65k words of FOTS material via Smashwords last week (FOTS: Psionics and FOTS: NTV4) plus designed and redesigned better looking covers for NTV1-3 and FOTS: Groundpounders plus reformatted NTV1 and Groundpounders for better appearance as ebooks (and to get them through Smashwords meatgrinder without choking and on to the Premium Catalog).

My royalties at Smashwords hit a record high for the quarter and they just keep growing. I'm now at around 300% of my best month ever from 2010-2012 (1st Quarter 2013 was around 150% of that same period).

Report:

Dream Warriors--read beta's notes, got some better ideas. Been working through some kinks and moved the whole thing forward about 1000 words.

Escape Artist--mostly in the notebook still, but I'm at 5k-ish.

Yellow Season--wow, I completely forgot this one. So yeah. Nothing.

However, when I read about Samhain's gothic novella thingy, I dug up and an old trunkie that I think will fit nicely. It's been marinating for a while, and it's about the right size. So I scribbled up some new characters in the notebook and read through the previous stuff I had for it.

Oh, and I didn't get the job. :(

Goals:

Dream Warriors--the total wordcount now stands at 21k. Let's get to 25 by next week.

Escape Artist--I'm happy letting this one sit for a while, but if I'm compelled to work on it (which I might be), then another 2k.

Yellow Season--trunking again, that ain't happenin'.

Samhain submission thingy--come up with a title and start a new document to copy-paste-revise on.

Good luck on your submission and goals Rhoda! Your muse is a little different this week. I was doing my usual scientific article reading and I came across this. It's suppose to be promising, but science can be a double edge sword. The negative side of it isn't always apparent. http://m.nypost.com/p/news/national/testing_starts_creates_homegrown_4jSHWpWFBEkczPTFque7VM I wondered what Frankenstein's monster would look like in this day and age.

Forgive me,fellow horror hounds.

I continue to write vampire novels. Yes,I have no damns to give. I adore them. I shall write vampire novels until I am too decrepit to do so.

I am thinking about working with an artist to turn my gangsters from hell novel into a graphic novel. He's really excited and that pleases me so much as a writer that I have become insufferable. Don't we all love when someone adores our work?

Luckily, my blunt mouthed brother is around to check my ego. I had to slow down on getting my vamp novel published,as life and bills intruded. I should be back on track by August.

My short story collections are just about done. If only I could stop adding gore. I have a problem,y'all.

Wishing you all good luck, positive vibes and happy writing!

Always happy to see you Kitty!

That sounds like a great theme for a graphic novel!

You will get there eventually Kitty, keep pushing!

I have theory.

All the hounds are being held hostage by giant fluffy bunnies. Forced to eat carrots and lettuce. How horrible to be some floppy eared fanged demon's cuddle monkey. Who wants to mount a rescue, who wants to just point and laugh?

I like carrots and lettuce (mixed with celery, tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers and doused with raspberry vinegarette dressing)!

Of course, it's more of a pre-dinner appetizer before the T-bone and baked potato smothered in mushrooms, butter, and sour cream...

I have, actually, been busy producing, but I'm not ready to say just what quite yet as it's mostly editing (edit, edit edit). I have almost 120k words in 3 different WIPS just <this> close to going up to Smashwords and Amazon.

Need to compose some covers though...

Anyone have some good motorcycle riders posing by their bikes images I can use for free?

Rabbits never let you have dressing.

I don't have any motorcycle pictures but I'll ask around. You might post that request in ask the experts section?

I still think we need a raiding part on the giant bunny compound, they may have the hounds prisoner and on strict vegetarian diet.

Hugs and pushups,

Tigress Tyrant
