Hello everyone. I'm Moldy. I'm a college student, and I suppose "hobbyist" might be more accurate than "amateur" (though certainly both apply).

I love to write but I don't think I have the dream of being professionally published that many here seem to have. It doesn't mean that I don't want to get better, though. I want to improve as a writer as well as converse with other writers, since nothing reminds to get back to my writing so much as hearing other writers talk about their work.

I look forward to meeting you all and soaking up all your wisdom.

Welcome. There's nothing wrong with being a hobbyist. I'm currently considering changing my mindset from a professional mindset back to a hobbyist mindset. When you're thinking about an actual writing career, it puts a lot of pressure on you, and in my case, that just made me miserable.

You never know. At some point, you might write something that millions of people will love.

That's how I feel about it as well. Right now I need writing as my outlet to help my sanity stand up against the rigors of working in retail; I don't have room for the pressures of becoming a professional writer yet.
