Good luck! Just curious as I have a sub there that's nearing 60-days - at what point did you query?

O'Dandelo - I've never made it to 2nd round at Bzzy, but I did have a sub lost there once. They got back to me about 2 weeks after my query to say it had been rejected weeks before. Not saying that's the case for you! and hoping yours has been passed up - just a caution that you might want to query after the expected response time has passed.

I queried at 65 days. Like I said, impatient. :)

Good luck with your submission!

2-day second round bump for Penumbra's Fae issue. Now for the long wait.

Pseudopod got back to me today on my query. Not too long of a wait, but I'm the impatient type. The story has been passed up to the editor by the first reader, who said he loved it. :D

So now I'm in a state somewhere between excitement and fear. So very impatient.

Niccolo, how long before you queried Pseudopod? They say after 2 months is fine and I'm at 71 days so I'm thinking about it.

Good luck by the way! :) *fingers crossed for you*

Starting to get a little anxious about a few of my submissions that have been out quite a long time at some great publications. I watch the stats on duotrope, and the one I have the most hope for has made it through four massive rounds of rejections. I really need one of these to work out. Fingers crossed for me and all of you!

Made it to the final round at Gray Matter Press's Ominous Realities. There are 23 pending responses on Duotrope and the Grinder, and God knows how many unreported.

Well, after a long, strange journey at W@ylines, I have finally withdrawn my submission at 147 days. Sad, as it began so well with an enthusiastic conditional acceptance and request for a re-write.

Off to the next market!

So sorry to hear that Eliza. How disappointing.

It's good you've decided not to let it linger there indefinitely.

And congrats to Marzioli and dachshund for your bumps! Good luck!

I am only middling in the sense I have an unusually high pile of first drafts to complete at the moment. I had a strangely productive month - don't know if any of its any good, but I wrote a lot.

Eliza, oh no! Best of luck on the next market. Are you going with a previous draft, or the one that came from working with the editors of Way?

Fihr, finished drafts are worth ten times their weight in gold. I envy you. I've been working on the same story for three weeks (not including redrafting old rejections).

I'll go with the most recent draft, even tho' it's nearly 6k now instead of 5k. There weren't really significant changes, but I think the editorial process improved it as a whole and clarified some scenes - so I guess it's all for the good.

Have things slowed down for the summer already? It is starting to feel that way. Out of my 35 submissions, I could possibly hear any day from a dozen or so of them that have passed the suggested wait times. But I also wonder if they might just sit there through the summer now. I haven't gotten a response in so long. Oh, the waiting game. Do you guys feel things slowing down?

Whenever I post here I get answers soon, although usually Rs! But over 150 days at three places now, one of those is shortlisted, and recently shortlisted for another antho that won't decide until July. le sigh.

Oh goodness, the crickets are going to kill me.

35 days-ish at Hazardous Press' Shifters anthology
33 days for Apokrupha's Dark Bits anthology
Pseudopod submissions at 80 days
Miscellanea: A Transdimensional Library at 38 days

None of them too long, but they're killing me nonetheless.

On the bright side, Another 100 Horrors is being released soon by Cruentus Libri, which contains my drabble Old Friend :)

Shortlisted at Night Terrors III. That's 4 shortlists I'm on right now, in addition to 3 other subs that are way in the red. *checks mirror for white hairs*

Aha! Saw your acceptance on the Grinder. Congrats! :)
Form R came back for me after my query.

New middling: W@ylines second round notice for a different story.
If this story doesn't end up making it there, it will be off to the Pod next. :)

Second-round bump from DSF for the Spider-thief story. (Which makes four markets in a row now to bump to second round with this one. >_<)

I've got one at 63 days at Dark Bits with no word of any kind, so it might be awhile yet.
