I haven't used a film camera for years, but then I've never been a proper photographer. I have a friend who specialises in night time photography and his stuff is beautiful. I can only look on in jealousy. :D

yea i can use other brands o film. and the cost is a pain. one of the last set of film experiments was to shoot only BW film for 30 days. i got some spectacular shots. its funny how when you shoot BW you get different shades of lighting to make a huge difference.

once i get past the current financial commitments i think i may go and shot a few rolls just for fun.

as to a digital i would have to break down and go buy one. i really love the feel of the SLR so getting a digital that felt the same gave me the same kinds of control will prob cost a mint. oh well i can start shopping now and pick one up next season.

s

BW is amazing! That's one of the things that you can't quite equal with digital. Although, I have gotten some nice shots with the BW setting on my digital.

A digital SLR gives you a lot of control. I think you'd be happy with one. They aren't cheap, but you can get one that isn't the newest model for a good discount.

I wouldn't call myself a "proper" photographer - more a hobbyist. And just because you're not a pro doesn't mean you couldn't get really good shots!

I'm sure I'll take a beautiful photo some day.

Uuugh, I've been playing a farming game all evening. I'll be seeing wee bags of flour in my sleep. :D

No, I haven't written anything for days. Although I'm really looking forward to being in ma new hoose I hate moving. I know after this I never have to do it again, but it's making me anxious and I can't write when I'm anxious. I'm back on the beta blockers so once I get moved and settled I'll get on with it. :D

It's a lovely sunny morning here and in just over three hours I'll have my sticky paws on the keys to my new flat. Wooooo!

Yay!!! Super excited for you, Fran!!! Best of luck with the move. :)

It's nice here too. Not to hot, like the past few days. I'm off to yoga and then to a friend's house for tea.

This is going to be a great holiday weekend. 3 days off great weather, the grill is clean and ready to go. Baseball is in full swing. and (i will have time to write with no kids around for several hours each day.)

What a great weekend this is going to be.

Morning pubbers!

Yes, they can. That's where hubby and I got ours - on sale at the time. I know Canon just came out with a new model (the T4i) which is not top-of-the line but good enough for someone who isn't a pro and wants a DSLR. You can probably get one model older (the T3i) for less.

Hello all Pubbers, Z, Spiral, Fran, Rocky - Fran I am so happy for you! I know it's going to be splendid once you get a bit settled, having a foundation like that should free up your creative energies quite a bit.

Rock, may the weekend continue as it has begun for you, beautiful and happy!

Spiral, how's my favorite ex-smoker?

Z, once I get my own self a bit more settled I want to start sharing photos too. I have some organizing to do first I believe. So glad you are sharing yours!

Here we had like 6 inches of rain last night! More on the way. At least that keeps things a bit cool. I woke up feeling really sick and still not that great, but had at long last an idea for how to move my creative work forward, so I feel a big sense of relief!

Baileys all around! and whatever else your hearts desire!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I got my keys. I've to go over tomorrow afternoon to get the gas turned on and I'll carry as much as I can. I chose a squashy red sofa and a coffee table and a hob thingie and I got a living room carpet for £50. Yay! I move in on Tuesday.

Now to phone Virgin and get whacked with another tenner for moving. Bah. :tongue

Well, in the meantime, all the pictures I post on my blog are my own....... with very rare exceptions. So, you can have a preview anytime, hint hint. :D But I am getting tired of using the same library from the last four years, need to get going to take some new ones!

Just spoke to Virgin. I explained the situation and the guy waived the tenner, gave me six months half-price, and they're giving me an extra box for the bedroom at no extra charge. See why I love them? See? :D

Poor sick Kyla. I hope you feel better soon. :Hug2:

That's fantastic. Some companies are really good like that. Have fun getting settled!!

Our long weekend was last weekend, but to those of you who are having one this weekend, I hope it's great. And even if you are just having a normal weekend, I hope it's great too :D

Yay for Spiral and her new-found non-smokerness. :TheWave: I'm so proud of you. :Hug2:

Trying to cram as much stuff as possible into a suitcase and a rucksack. Nobody's going to want to share the bus with me tomorrow. :D

Thanks, guys!! *blushes*

Fran, the secret to packing clothes to take up less space is to roll them up :)

You mean cramming them in in a crumpled heap isn't an efficient use of space? Wow. I'll have to review my strategy. :tongue

My biggest problem, really, is that I'm going to have no fridge or freezer for several days. I've got four days to eat all the chilled and frozen food I've got and there's really rather a lot of it. :D

If that happened to me I'd try to get hold of a cheap cooler and a couple of those frozen fake ice things (Blue Ice or something?) No idea if that is a possibility where you are but it works fine for temporary lack of refrigerator; I've done this a few times.

Thanks, but those things aren't cheap here. :D It'll be annoying because I like my drinks really cold.

*sigh* Why can't people check if things are true or not before spraying pish all over Facebook? I suppose the place would be half-empty. :D
