Go, Ken! And nice to see you, wonder - back to yourself already!

vagough, I majored in math in college. A negative number is still a number, so it counts. :) Of course, since I also scored a negative (-278), my credibility is in question.

Parts of this are not in bad shape. I am a little surprised. Of course, I've still got sixteen chapters left. I suspect it'll get mushier as I go.

Yay words, everybody!

About 60 words last night. I know, I know, but I did at least finish the chapter. Only six to go now...

(and scanning upthread, I now know where the bizarre reference to margaritas that found its way into a simile came from. Damn you, subconscious!)

ETA: It's done! :hooray: Added another 264 words to finish out the "Epilogue" for a total of 676 words! (And yes, the epilogue actually works!) WIP total is 92,190 words. Now on to edits after I let it sit for a week or so.

Congratulations! :hooray:

Congratulations, Ken!

I got essentially nothing yesterday. I deleted a few more words, but those don't really count. I really need to get this done, but editing is just no fun.

Nice wordage, Saiorse. Good to see you getting back to your old self. :D

Well, now that Deadly Storm is wrapped and awaiting edits, I now have time to start working on my next project. This one is set a little closer to home, in San Antonio, which is about a 4 hour drive for me. It's a little bit thriller and a little bit mystery. Not sure how to really catagorize it.

Starting the day with 2746 words on ~The River Walk Murders~. My MC is Cal Jessup, a retired SAPD Detective who is chasing a serial killer that disappeared over 6 years prior and has started killing again.

Note: I have the prologue, which is from the killers POV, posted in M/T/S SYW if anyone is interested. *shameless plug*

Well, I did manage 1,979 words yesterday. Got 500 more this morning. I'd like to say that I'm on a roll, but...the daughter is moving into a recently purchased home that'll take a little elbow grease, so I'll be pulling shifts there now through the weekend...scrubbing and doing my grandpa babysitting duties.

Ken, you're kicking it. I just spent the weekend in San Antonio (3 hour drive for me) doing a book signing at The Twig Book Shop. Nice folks there.

Hey, heyjude! Nice to see you again, leader and synopsis expert. :)

Good wordage, mr mitchell. and a +++ for everyone else.

and Ken, congratulations! A whoo and a hoo for a complete draft!

I got my 90 minutes of editing done, so this accountability thread continues to work its magic for me. Halfway done.

Well, Scrivener says only 38 words, net, today, but that was after lots of editing and reworking of three more chapters, all of which I'm very happy with now. And I have about 10 pages of handwritten notes to start working through this weekend to continue building out the story. I am satisfied.

Yeah, Ken -- interesting idea! Will check you out on SYW later. :)

Cheers to all.

550 words yesterday. Realised that at least two early scenes are going to have to be chopped out in the next draft, but that's a task to be tackled later.

Wow - plenty of work going on around here. Kudos everyone!

Less than 300 for me today. Bummer. I'm trying to get as much done as possible before I go on vacation. Maybe I'm trying too hard.

Right. Here is my commitment.

1,000 words tonight when I get home from work. No excuses.
At least 1,000 words each day, tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday (a public holiday in England).
At least 3,000 words each day, Tuesday and Wednesday (I am on holiday but my wife isn't - so I should be able to get some good writing time in).

That's 10k there. I think I am between 10-12k from the end. So really I'm aiming for the end.

If I make it, drinks are on me... :)

Today, 600 words. Finished one chapter and ended up with a tense plot point, which is worth building on.

onesecondglance, I love homebrewed beer, so count me in (despite the small matter of being 5000+ miles away from you).

Daddyo, those are some good words!

I've had a lovely, lovely morning of revising. Up at 3:30 (I get like that sometimes) and after doing some chores, into revising, Got 1/4 of the book revised, and by gorsh, it's good. It's the exciting part. Law enforcement is suspicious, the really bad guys are threatening my heroes, and it's working out.

Only 1/4 to go. At this rate, I'll be done in May! Whoo and hoo!

Congrats, Ken on finishing Deadly Storm and great start on The River Walk Murders. Go you!:hooray:

I haven't been able to get any writing done the last two days, but hopefully tomorrow that will change. For now 0 returns to reside atop the mantlepiece.

Saoirse, Mr Mitchell and lorna_w, awesome wordage. :D

OSG, we're going to hold you to that. :troll

muse, thanks! It was good to finally get the first draft out of the way. I fully expect you to get rid of that 0 over the weekend.

Not a lot today, just tweaking and taking my time on the first few pages of the new WIP. Not in any rush and still have to get into Cal's head, as well as the head of the serial killer. Not as easy as you'd think, especially that second one. Added a whopping 45 words after hacking away at it today.
