After reading Scott McCloud's tweet about them, I've been filling my morning with 10cc. Now playing: The finishing croons of The Film Of My Love. Swapping LPs now, so Art for Art's Sake is next.

The Girl with Broken Wings by Manchester Orchestra.

IMO: Andy Hull is one of the greatest song writers out there. Brilliant boy. Also, check out his side project: Right Away, Great Captain!

ET by Katy Perry

I listened to this song obsessively during the writing of a certain scene in No Turning Back, my first book.

Oh yes. Andy Hull is one of my top songwriters of all time, and this song shows that well.

White Room by We Are Standard.

These guys are like old U2, with influences of indie pop.
Yeah, I'm listening to more Manchester Orchestra songs right now. A lot of really good ones. I love finding a band that actually has more than 2 good songs.

Try out Andy Hull's side project Right Away, Great Captain! Most of it is him on guitar.

Also, because Manchester Orchestra and they have worked together and sound very similar, check out my favorite band The Dear Hunter. Casey Crescenzo is another one of those song writing gods. They worked together on The Dear Hunter's EP Red from their Color Spectrum.

Intro by The XX.

Ohh, I love the side project too! You're doing wonders for my music collection.

I'll check out the other one later. People here have this crazy idea that people should actually work while at work. It's weird, I know, but what can you do?

Been more than a day!

Lillian by The Dear Hunter.

In a interview, Casey said that the song he was most proud of writing was this one. And, really, its bloody phenomenal.
Sorry! I've been really busy with packing for the move. I can't believe I left so much stuff to the last minute. Really thought it would go much faster.

I've only had a chance to listen to a few songs, but so far this one is my favorite by The Dear Hunter. Do you have any favorites you'd recommend?

Currently listening to Shalott by Emilie Autumn.

All of them... really. All of their songs are great.

My faves:
Father.
A Beautiful Life.
Let Go.
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Elton John cover).
The Pimp and the Priest.

A lot of people get into The Dear Hunter by their collection of EPs called The Color Spectrum. 36 songs spanning everything from hard rock, electronic, to bluegrass. Or, they start on the Acts.

Brennisteinn by Sirur Ros.

I'm not quite sure with these guy's decision about changing their tone. They said that their newest album was going to be far different from Valtari... but I love Valtari... this song and the others on the EP of their upcoming album still scares me a bit.
