Congratulations from the white north

Congratulations Robert!

I hope that one day, not to far away, I will get my book published. And I totally get when you say that you've done it with the help of AW; just the atmosphere here gives you a boost to keep going. As a newbie I've been lurking around here for a few weeks, a couple of things that have stuck on my head (so far) are: 1) Don't worry about getting a perfect book on the first draft, just get going, write, write, write, that's what second and third drafts are for. 2) The other thing that I learned was that some people get bored on one book and usually have another project on the go. Now, let me brag:

I've done more writing now that I ever done before just because I don't worry about "stuff", I can't type fast enough all the creative ideas that constantly pop in my head now. Just the other day, as I was writing I introduced a new character in my book, but then I started thinking about the life of that new character; before I realized it, I spent 4 hours writing a plot on how that character got there about 50 years before. And I also have a plot idea for an event that takes place 500 years before the time line of my book.

Cheers

Thanks BR and Ben!! I really appreciate it. The publisher did a nice job with the cover. Hopefully it'll draw readers to the book. Every little bit helps, especially with small publishers like mine. It isn't as if they have a "marketing campaign" to promote the book. So the cover, back cover blurb, and reviews from readers will be what sells it.

And you'll get there, Ben. You really will. Just study the craft (I recommend reading Stein and King's writing books) and listen to the feedback from everybody here. It's a good group!

If you need anything, just let me know. I'm happy to help!

I'm very pleased to report that my novella "Thief of War" sold to Tor.com. (Especially since they don't normally buy anything longer than a novelette.) It's a story set in the same world as my River of Souls series.

Pleased to announce my YA/Fantasy, Death Bytes, should be ready for publication on May 1st by ExtasyBooks.com. Last round of editing was today, so hopefully it will go off as planned. Congratulations to everyone who's gotten published or signed contracts to be published!

My story, Sojourn for Ephah, is the cover story for OSC's Intergalactic Medicine Show issue 30.

That title caught my eye when I was browsing there earlier. Congrats!

Diem Allen and MereP: Congratulations. I've known people to get good boosts from Amazon freebies and I took a look at Death Throes.

Guess it's time to brag, considering my military sci-fi novel Red Sun was released last month.

Available at Musa or Amazon
