We're getting an indirect sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent this year:

It's not being made by Frictional Games, however. It's being made by thechineseroom, best known for Dear Esther.

I loved Amnesia, since it was the first survival horror title since Silent Hill that genuinely had me scared while playing. I really hope that this one will live up to the original.

It looks like Frictional Games is moving on to a new game, but wanted another Amnesia game, which is where the different developer came in. Looking at what thechineseroom has done, I'm not entirely confident. This will be their first full length game, and I'm not certain that their approach is well suited for Amnesia. It's something to keep watching, but the more I look into it, the less I expect out of it.

I don't actually own amnesia...but it's buried in my queue. Eventually I hope to play it :). Even though I'm not a huge fan of horror games, I'll keep an eye on this game.
