Working on Spring of Spirits first draft, currently at 43,000 words. The goal is 75,000. Having a hard time focusing on it due to my thesis work. 
I'm really close to finishing the first draft, but it's actually causing me a lot of anxiety, because then I have to figure out how it all fits together. Any advice?
Take it one step at a time. Finish the first draft. Don't worry about revisions until you've done that.
I like to take a long break before I hit revisions, at least a month off.
I'm currently revising an unnamed YA high fantasy and outlining a companion book. Hoping to query the first by the end of July. It's going to be the first time I've queried so I'm rather nervous about it.
RHouse lost my full due to an editorial change, after a four-month wait. Just re-subbed to the new senior editor and now the wait goes on again. Very quiet this week--could be due to the BEA show/conference. I'm expecting some publisher emails later this week--one or two would be nice. Agent hasn't touched base about leveraging several small press contract offers. It's been kind of dead and lonely lately.

Just started querying my YA epic fantasy a few weeks ago. Currently looking at revising my query some more though.

Agent and I settled on the highest small press advance, so I'll sign the contract. Finally, it's over. I retained most of my rights, royalty on cover and 12 free author's copies in the deal plus the promise of a huge marketing campaign.
Now I concentrate on all those who offered contracts on the other YA title--four so far, but I've eliminated three of them. More subs out there waiting to come in for it, so there's hope it might do as well as the other book but I rather doubt it.

Howdy, all! I just joined yesterday. My WIP is titled A Million Miles Away and is over 90% done. I just need to add a little more content to two chapters, then it's on to the editing phase. Am hoping to get betas by the end of June.
The novel has been a WIP for over ten years now(!). It's about a recent high school graduate who gets to know and eventually befriend her teenage crush. I know that's a cliche and kind of overdone, so I tried to do something a little different with the storyline without going waaaay off into left field entirely. I'm going the self-publishing route for this one. There is a planned sequel with a happier ending that I might try to pitch to an agent. Not sure yet. I'm a little overwhelmed as it is with the self-publishing route!

New to this thread! I have about 16,000 words revised in Stolentime and When Stars Die is currently with my contract manager/editor undergoing line edits.
I am currently revising my first novel...wondering when it will end...when I will finally be satisfied. I was hoping to be subbing to publishers end July but it might be more like September at this rate. In the meantime I'll keep plodding and remembering that with each pass I am getting closer to my goal.

I still have one complete YA novel I've been querying agents and submitting to pubs, a few bites, but nothing for sure yet. I can't believe it's been a year and a half already.
On the good side, I'm nearly finished with my newest WIP, which is another YA novel. The first draft is complete and I need to make revisions. I finally showed the query to one of my editors and she liked the premise and wanted to see the complete synopsis on it. If I can just get her interested in wanting to see the ms. I would be soooooooooooo happy and more motivated to finish the final touchs on it. Otherwise I'll have to throw it out there like the rest of them and query the world.

Yeah, we've covered some massive ground--no stones unturned. At least we have a pretty good, thorough list to refer to for future submissions. I pretty much know whose who out there and what they have to offer, as well as the deadbeats who don't cotton to agents, are author mills or have some questionable pasts.
Absolutely, I think that's one of the most important things of publishing novels, knowing who's good and who's not. I've learned a lot too. Some places I would definitely submit to again and others I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

Right now, my NA urban fantasy is having its full manuscript reviewed by a small publisher. It's been 4.5 weeks, and I've heard up to 8 weeks is typical. Kinda scary, but I suppose I can keep sending good vibes into the universe.
Otherwise, I'm caught between full throttle focusing on writing my YA psych thriller, a.k.a. my 18th novel in 5 years, or start editing one of the 9 other untouched first drafts sitting in my books folder and come to the novel sporadically. What do you guys think? Do you think too there is such a thing as writing too much?

Too much writing is not a bad at all. Yet, you should strive to finish off each project completely so that it is ready for submission. That means polished editing, complete with query and synopsis. Sounds like you can do that by moving right on down the line with each of your unfinished/finished books. At least you have the major part done with books from beginning to end. I wish I had such an inventory. That's really plastering some pixels on the screen.

Thanks for the reply! I've been trying to get myself to edit a lot of those for a while now, and I think it's time I go visit some old friends. Besides, I think it's healthier for the WIP if I only work on it when I really have the inspiration. Great advice.

Well, I'm new so here is my first update post.
My first novel (that I've actually written an entire first draft for), MISSING PIECES, contemporary YA, is in the editing process. I hope to be querying by the end of the summer, maybe mid August.

Wrote 5k today, finishing a chapter, so I officially have 4 chapters left to write for my novel. Then. I'm. Done.

Same here. That's not usually like me in the summer. Usually I'm sitting like a bum not writing a thing. I just finished my first draft of another YA mystery, but it needs loads of revisions. At least I have the bones for it.
And just recently I've gotten some serious interest from an agent on my other YA. I need to make some adjustments, but it sounds promising. Then again I've had several R&R requests in the past and nothing ever panned out. Maybe this one will? I hope. I hope.
